Sustainable Energy Fund’s educational programs seek to increase the knowledge of and passion for sustainable energy in the leaders of today and tomorrow. Literacy in both energy and sustainability is crucial to the understanding and application of knowledge in making sound sustainable energy related decisions. SEF funds a variety of educational initiatives that raise public awareness of sustainable energy as well as provide topic-specific training for energy users, educators and students.

Energypath is the region's largest sustainable energy event attracting industry professionals, policymakers and academia throughout the region and across the United States. The week-long event includes a two-day conference, preconference energy camps, an exposition of sustainable energy companies, colleges, and contractors, and a middle and high school science fair. More than 400 people attend the Conference, which features more than 40 speakers who present on a wide range of sustainable energy topics. The three-day preconference energy camps provide a deeper understanding of sustainable energy technologies through a combination of classroom and “hands-on” training. The middle school and high school science fairs attract the brightest young students who compete for cash prizes and recognition through projects and research.
